Made Some Changes

As you can see, I ended up adding a bird to the piece. I felt like it needed something more and what goes better in a tree than a bird. Yes, okay squirrels. And owls. Monkeys. Snakes. Those horrible tree cockroaches.
By adding the bird, I have changed the title to "Blue Tree and Bird". It is (of course) still the same size of 7x9 inches.
The next piece is called "Flowering Tree and Birds" and is made with acrylic,graphite and ink just like the rest of them. It's my favorite so far (I know I probably shouldn't admit favorites, but I really like it).
They are both up for sale as prints in my Etsy Shop.

Today I am painting bathrooms. I am also thinking a lot about my best friend and her husband and another good friend who are all packing to leave New Orleans together to escape Gustav. I hope everyone is taking precautions and staying safe.

Blue Tree

Finally scanned in, but not yet available in my shop. Probably tomorrow. Yes, I say that a lot.

This is acrylic and ink with a bit of graphite. 7x9 inches on illustration board. I'm calling it "Blue Tree" for obvious reasons. I'm calling the whole series of them "Dreaming of Trees" because the series I was working on under the same name will never be finished (admitting temporary defeat). I have a bunch more that I will post as I scan them.

Maybe I Need a Cape.

I'm not sure how some other moms do it all. SouleMama has three children and one on the way and somehow still manages to keep on blogging and crafting and homeschooling (and let's not forget her wonderful book). Loobylu has kids and blogs and keeps up with her arts and crafts nicely, as well (and OMG her softies are ADORABLE).
Electric Boogaloo has two busy boys who she also homeschools and creates beautiful art AND knows the value of a good f-bomb when properly placed. Lots of other art/craft bloggers are moms, but I can't list them all. I'm clearly not organized enough for that kind of undertaking.

My sad little blog has seen no action whatsoever for over 2 weeks. Rest assured, I am getting something done behind the scenes (and I do THINK about blogging although I know that doesn't really count). I have come to the conclusion (much to my relief and dismay ) that I need to institute a schedule. There is simply no other way that I can take care of my children and my business and the meals and the housework and spend time with my husband AND my friends. My personal alone time is often smashed together with business because I need a bit of quiet to make art.

Oh! Speaking of art, I'll be back very soon to show some of the new stuff I'm working on. It's a departure from tiny animals, but I'm really enjoying the process and the results.
